Description
The GLONASS-K2 satellite series are an upgraded variant of the GLONASS-K spacecraft with the first launch planned for 2022 or 2023. The spacecraft offers improved accuracy while keeping the 10-year service life and increasing both power and weight. The new satellites will support both military and civilian operators. The GLONASS-K2 features a high degree of Russian produced electronics compared with previous GLONASS satellites. Russia expects to procure up to 33 spacecraft over a period of 10 years through the early 2030s.
