Description

BAE Systems Land Systems OMC South Africa RG-12 is a 4x4 all-steel, welded armored, monocoque vehicle providing protection against small arms fire, hand grenades and firebombs. Its primary role is anti-riot vehicle carrying 12 police officers which can fire arms and other weapons from inside. Its standard equipment includes air-conditioning. Besides, the RG-12 can be tailored for other roles having their own specific requirements. In combat roles the vehicle can be fitted with a weapon station with calibers up to 12.7mm. To date, more than 800 RG-12 vehicles have been ordered by law enforcement forces from Cote d'Ivoire, Italy, Jordan, South Africa, and United Arab Emirates (UAE). The first vehicles were delivered in the early 1990s with the current production standard being the RG-12 Mk4.
