Description
The Norsat-3 is a maritime surveillance satellite developed by Norway along the US military to detect surface ships using a radar system instead of tracking signals. The Norsat-3 is expected to be launched into orbit in the autumn of 2020 and is expected to achieve initial operational capability in early 2021. The new spacecraft is expected to support the Norwegian Coast Guard as well as its military.
