Description

The IRIS-T SLX surface-to-air missile is the latest development of the IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile family. It features a maximum range of 80 kilometers and a ceiling of 30 kilometers. The guidance system of the SLX variant combines the GPS and data-link from the SLM variant and an infrared seeker. The new variant is intended to deliver better performance against countermeasures. The new missile is expected to be deployed along the IRIS-T SLX air defense system by 2030.
