Description

The AV-VB4-RE Guara is a 4x4 light armored reconnaissance vehicle with a flexible design to serve as command post, anti-tank, ground surveillance radar, forward observation and mortar carrier. The Guara vehicle features: High mobility on extreme terrain conditions; High speed on roads; Long range on/off-road; Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS); ABS Brake System; Outstanding under armor internal space; Effective mine protection; 7.62 mm AP Ballistic Protection; Weapon mount for .50 (12.7mm) Heavy Machine Gun, 7.62mm Machine Gun or 40mm Automatic Grenade Launcher; Low operational and maintenance costs by using the Mercedes-Benz Unimog 4x4 chassis; and High reliability. The Brazilian Army in a joint effort with Avibras Aeroespacial deployed operationally to Haiti the AV-VB4-RE Guara in a peacekeeping mission for the first time in March 2010.
