Description

The US Navy Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) is a program at delivering a non-nuclear long-range hypersonic cruise missile to be launched from surface ships such as the DDG 1000 class destroyers. The new missile could enter service beginning in the mid- or late 2020s along the DDG 1000 destroyer and other surface ships and submarines. The new hypersonic missile will be delivered to the US Navy DDG 1000 class destroyers by mid 2020s. The CPS is also launched from the US Army's Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) ground mobile platform.
