Description

The MUNGO NC Recce is a lightweight armored wheeled, nuclear and chemical threat reconnaissance vehicle derived from the MUNGO tactical truck. The new variant leverages MUNGO's high mobility, air-transportability by A400M, C-130 or CH-53 aircraft. The three-man crew includes commander, driver, reconnaissance technician. The vehicle will be able to detect and identify nuclear and chemical warfare agents threats with the crew operating inside. MUNGO NC Recce communications device is linked to the German Army's command, control and information system known as FuInfoSys Heer. In May 2009 the Federal Office of Defence Technology and Procurement (BWB) awarded Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) a contract for the supply of the MUNGO NC Recce vehicle with trials due to start in early 2010. Series production for the MUNGO NC Recce is envisaged at 25 units. In July 2019 Germany ordered nine additional vehicles to be delivered by 2022.
