Description
The Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) is a new weapon developed by Saab and Boeing by integrating the Small Diameter Bomb I (SDB I) with the M26 ground-based rocket motor. The M26 rocket is used on the M270 and HIMARS Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS). The GLSDB is a cost-effective, long-range, precision attack weapon system. The first live-fire tests were conducted in March 2015. The GLSDB can fly complex trajectories while maneuvering to strike targets that cannot be reached by conventional direct fire weapons. The new weapon will be offered to customers of rocket artillery based upon the M270 and HIMARS systems.
