Description
The Multi-role Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) is an L-band airborne surveillance radar manufactured by Northrop Grumman in the United States. It is capable of simultaneous air and sea surveillance, fighter guidance, and sea surface surveillance. The radar has an instrumented range of over 600 km in look-up mode, while its maximum range against a fighter-sized target in look-down mode is more than 370 km. For frigate-sized targets at sea, the maximum range is over 240 km. The MESA system can simultaneously track 180 targets and perform 24 intercepts.
