Description
The Russian Air Force Ostrota, also known as Izdelie 71, is a short-range hypersonic missile developed to hit targets on the ground and/or most likely targets at sea as well. The Ostrota missile is expected to weigh less than 1 ton and have a maximum range of several hundred kilometers to hit time critical targets such as accumulations of military forces. The Russian Air Force is expected to test the new missile in 2022 and may enter into service by 2023 or 2024. The missile is expected to be deployed by Su-34M and Tu-22M3M bombers as well as the Su-57 and Okhotnik-B stealth aircraft.
