Description

The AORL-1 (Cyrillic: Аэродромный Обзорный Радио-Локатор АОРЛ-1) is a solid-state L-band air traffic control radar system, manufactured by Chelyabinsk Radio Plant "Polet." Operating in the 1215-1279 MHz frequency range, it integrates both primary (PSR) and secondary (SSR) radar capabilities. Designed for airports with moderate to high traffic volumes, the system has an instrumented range of 162 km (87 NM) with a range resolution of 225 meters, and an antenna rotation speed of 12 rpm. Its accuracy is specified at less than 40 meters and 0.14 degrees, with a beamwidth of 2.25 degrees, and it adheres to ICAO recommendations and international standards, with the secondary radar also meeting Russian national standards and interrogator frequencies.
