N010 Zhuk
The N010 Zhuk (Cyrillic: Н010 «Жук», meaning “Beetle”) is a multifunctional airborne radar system developed by Phazotron Scientific and Production Company. Operating in the X-band (IEEE designation) or I-band (NATO designation), it has a peak power of 10 kW, an average power of 2 kW, and an instrumented range of 100 nautical miles (approximately 185 km). Designed for aircraft such as the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29M, MiG-33, and MiG-35, early versions featured a mechanically steered antenna. Later variants, including the Zhuk F and Zhuk MF, incorporate a 680 mm diameter passive phased array antenna, while the Zhuk A and Zhuk MA utilize an active phased array antenna. A modified version, the Zhuk-MSF, is adapted for installation on Sukhoi Su-33UB (Su-27KUB), Su-30MK, and Su-37 aircraft, and the system has a mean time between critical failures (MTBCF) of 120 hours.
