Description
The HQ-16B medium-range missile system is an improved version of the HQ-16 surface-to-air missile (SAM) with increased range and accuracy using new designed wings. This supersonic and vertical-launch missile may have a range in excess of 60 kilometers against a wide range of airborne targets such as fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, cruise missiles, stealth airplanes and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The HQ-16B missile is intended for the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) Type 054B class frigates and HQ-16 ground-based air defense systems.
