Description

The Pansarbandvagn 302 (Pbv 302) is a family of high mobility, light armored vehicles utilizing a tracked chassis designed by Hagglund to meet the requirements of the Swedish Army as the replacement for the Pbv 301. The Pbv 302 development started in 1961 and production ran between 1966 and 1971 with roughly 1,000 armored vehicles produced. The Pbv 302 vehicle family includes: Stripbv 3021 command post, Epbv 3022 forward artillery observation vehicle, Bplpbv 3023 battery command vehicle, Rlpbv 3024 communications vehicle, Pjrekpbv 3025 battery reconnaissance vehicle and Sjuktppbv 3026 medical evacuation vehicle. The Swedish Army is replacing the existing Pbv 302 vehicle family by the CV90 armored vehicles by 2020.
