PSV

The Russian Air Force PSV is a high-speed combat helicopter being developed by Russian Helicopters and expected to enter into service by 2022. The PSV attack helicopter may be capable of reaching speeds of 500 kilometers per hour. The PSV program was made public in September 2015. The PSV will be developed on the basis of the Mi-24 attack helicopter. The new Mi-24 variant will require a radical modification of its propulsion system to reach the new speed target. In August 2017 the Russian Aerospace Forces expected the nqew design to be ready by 2019 with the maiden flight scheduled before the end of 2024. The PSV high speed attack helicopter may enter service with the Russian Aerospace Forces in the 2025-2030 timeframe.
