Description

The HALO 2000 and HALO 3000 are naval navigation radars manufactured by Simrad Yachting. These X-band (IEEE designation) or I-band (NATO designation) pulse radars utilize solid-state components and digital pulse compression, operating with a peak power of 50 W and an instrumented range of 72 nautical miles (133 km). They feature a slotted waveguide antenna available in lengths of 90 cm (3 ft), 1.22 m (4 ft), or 1.82 m (6 ft), providing horizontal beamwidths of 1.7°, 1.3°, or 0.8° respectively, and a consistent vertical beamwidth of 25°. The radar signal processing incorporates Doppler beam-sharpening, and the antenna rotates at speeds between 16 and 48 revolutions per minute.
