Description
The Russian Air Force Merlin-21b is a surveillance unmanned air vehicle (UAV) equipped with a compact dual-band radar in order to detect highly camouflaged objects in any weather conditions and in any time of the day. Besides, the UAV is capable of transmitting data and high resolution images in real time. The dual band radar operates in the decimeter wavelength allowing detection of objects hidden from the human eye and camouflaged with leaves. The Merlin-21b can fly at an altitude of up to 3,000 meters over ranges of up to 600 kilometers. The Merlin-21b drone was demonstrated at the Army-2015 exhibition outside Moscow in June 2015.
