Description

The Marauder is an armored, mine-protected vehicle that is produced by Paramount Group in South Africa. It was launched during the 2007 International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) and Conference in Abu Dhabi, the largest arms exhibition in the Middle East.

Variants
Matador The Matador is the base variant of the family, it is an MRAP type platform designed to carry an infantry section for long distances in off-road and urban conditions.
Marauder The Marauder is a more compact version of the Matador, which may indicate that it is designed towards the specific needs of an urban environment, or conversely, to very austere off-road travel.
Arlan The Arlan 4 × 4 MRAP armored wheeled vehicle is based on the Marauder and produced by Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering LLP. The vehicle is intended to operate in extreme geographical and climatic conditions to meet the mission requirements of the Kazakhstan military.
Belrex The Belrex 4 × 4 is a protected combat support vehicle (PCSV) based on the Marauder and produced by ST Kinetics and the Singaporean MoD (MINDEF). It was designed to provide direct logistical support for motorised infantry forces operating the 8 × 8 Terrex ICVs in difficult terrain or high-threat environments.

Hull Armor The Marauder can provide ballistic protection in both the crew compartment and engine compartment (except grille) against 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm small arm ammunition.
Applique Armor Available, The vehicle has blast protection of STANAG 4569 levels 3A and 3B standards (protection against 8 kg TNT beneath the hull and the wheel and 50 kg of TNT side blast). This could be increased to Level 4 standards with add-on kits. IED protection kits have also been developed and can be rapidly fitted to the vehicles.
