Description
The Romb, SA-8 Gecko Western designation, is a surface-to-air missile (SAM) system developed to counter hostile aircraft at shorter ranges and flying at low altitudes. The whole Romb air defense system is mounted on a high mobility and air-transportable 6x6 chassis which typically carries four to six ready-to-fire 9M33 missiles. The Soviet Union deployed Romb to provide air defense to military units. It was sold to over 25 countries all over the world.
