Description

The Avante 1800 is a small multi-purpose combatant and oceanic patrol boat developed by Navantia to protect the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The ship features stealth design capable of performing both anti-surface (ASuW) and anti-aircraft warfare (AAW) missions. The Avante 1800 design includes a flight deck for a single medium 10-ton class helicopter and a hull-mounted sonar. The ship is equipped with two eight meters inflatable boats. The propulsion system follows the Combined Diesel and Diesel (CODAD) arrangement developing a top speed of 26 knots. The weapon system includes a 76mm naval gun, anti-ships missiles and surface-to-air missiles as well as rolling airframe missiles (RAM). In October 2022, Morocco placed an order for a single Avante 1800 corvette/patrol boat to be built in Spain and expected to be commissioned in 2025-2026.
