Description

The AN/SPY-7, formerly known as Lockheed Martin’s Solid State Radar (LM SSR), is an S-band naval radar manufactured in the United States by Lockheed Martin. This modular and scalable system is designed for both land and sea-based applications, supporting missions such as early warning, situational awareness, tactical surveillance, and air defense. Sharing core technology with the Long-Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR), it allows for efficient integration of new capabilities without hardware modifications. The AN/SPY-7 is integrated into US Navy Ticonderoga-class cruisers and Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers, while its land-based Aegis Ashore variant is deployed in the United States, Spain, Japan, and Romania as part of the NATO missile defense system.
