Description

The Jumper is a surface-to-surface missile system designed to precisely hit targets at ranges of up to 50 kilometers. The system consists of a 1.4x1.4x2 meters vertical launch container with nine (3x3) canistered Jumper missiles and an integrated command and control unit. The Jumper missile is equipped with a global positioning (GPS) and Inertial navigation (INS) systems as the basis of its guidance system and optionally can be fitted with a semi-active laser (SAL) seeker to hit targets with pinpoint accuracy. The SAL seeker is intended to engage targets in urban areas. A variety of modular warheads is also available to take out a wide spectrum of targets. IAI unveiled the Jumper weapon system in early September 2009. The Israel Armed Forces might use this new weapon system as an autonomous artillery system in support of ground forces.
