Description

The Kedr, Cedar in English, is a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) system being developed for the Russian Strategic Missile Forces. The ground-launched Kedr is expected to deploy some sort hypersonic cruise missile with maneuverability at the terminal phase of the flight to surpass future missile defenses. It is likely that the new missile system is related to the Avangard hypersonic weapon system. Its development started in 2021 and is expected to be ready for fielding by 2030. The Kedr missile system will be deployed on surface mobile launchers as well as underground silos.
