Description
The RLS-P is an X-band (IEEE designation) or I-band (NATO designation) airborne navigation and weather radar manufactured by Kotlin-Novator. It is designed for use on IL-76(M), IL-78(M), Antonov AN-70, and AN-124-100M aircraft. The system features a hydraulically stabilized parabolic antenna, measuring 1,461 × 776 mm, which can generate two antenna patterns: a very narrow fan beam with a vertical width of 2.7° and an inverted cosecant squared pattern. With a peak power of 75 kW and a 1° beamwidth, the radar has an instrumented range of 400 km and supports both panoramic surveillance and sector search programs with selectable ±30° or ±15° coverage.
