Description

The IDAS (Interactive Defence and Armament for Submarines or Interactive Defence and Attack system for Submarines) missile system is also based on IRIS-T missile. IDAS purpose is to allow submerged submarines to effectively engage surface vessels, anti-submarine helicopters and land targets near the coast. Currently, IDAS is a technology demonstration program expected to go into development in 2007-2008. In January 2025, the German Ministry of Defense resumed the development of the IDAS missile system.
