Description

The Python-MR, also known as Python with booster, is a surface-to-air variant of the Python-5 air-to-air missile designed to engage enemy aircraft with a full sphere launch capability. It can be launched from very short to medium ranges featuring excellent countermeasures resistance and great kill probability even against high maneuverable targets. It incorporates a new dual waveband imaging seeker, advanced computer architecture, INS, and IR Counter-Countermeasures. The Python-MR missile will be used in combination with the Derby-MR surface-to-air missile within the Amred Forces of Israel Spyder-MR air defense systems. The dual waveband seeker will enable Python-MR to engage small, low-signature, low-flying targets even in adverse weather and cloudy environments.
