Description

The US Navy’s AIM-174B is a long-range air-to-air missile developing from the Standard SM-6 missile’s body and the AIM-120 seeker. The new missile was unveiled in 2024 and is expected to be fired from Super Hornet Block III aircraft. The AIM-174B is expected to have a maximum range of 300 kilometers flying at a maximum speed of Mach 3.5, the missile has a shorter booster compared with the SM-6 missile and thus a more limited range.
