Description
The RAC 3D “Flamingo” is a battlefield radar operating in the G/H band, offering an instrumented range of 100 km with a range resolution of 15 m. This frequency band provides an optimal balance between atmospheric attenuation, transmitting power resolution, and antenna size for detecting small, low-altitude targets in heavy clutter. The system utilizes a state-of-the-art planar phased-array antenna, rotating every 2 or 3 seconds, and incorporates digital pulse compression technology. Three variants of the RAC radar station are in service, including alert and coordinating radars and gap filler radars.
