Description
The US Army’s XM1208 is a 155mm cluster munitions projectile developed under the Cannon-Delivered Area Effects Munition (C-DAEM). Each projectile, with an estimated range of 22 kilometers, carries nine M99 submunitions that are delivered at a certain altitude and detonating at 1.5 meters of altitude and releasing 1,200 tungsten fragments. The US Army program scope is to produce up to 30,000 XM1208 projectiles annually to be fired by M109A6/A7 and M777A2 howitzers.
