Description

The Islamic Republic of Iran Navy Shahid Roudaki is an amphibious assault ship capable of carrying several Saba-248 helicopters, up to six Ababil-2/3 drones, up to four fast attack missiles boats, Khordad 15 surface-to-air and up to eight long-range anti-ship missiles. Besides, the 4,000-ton vessel features a bow-mounted anti-aircraft gun, advanced communications, 3D phased array radar and electronic warfare (EW) system. The ship is intended as power projection asset for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) troops anywhere in the Persian Gulf. The ship features a large flat deck that serves as flight deck along with a small hangar. The Shahid Roudaki landing ship was commissioned by the Iranian Navy in mid November 2020.
