Description
The AV500W is an autonomous unmanned rotorcraft developed by AVIC of China to perform both reconnaissance and combat missions. The aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 450 kilometers with a maximum speed of 170 kilometers per hour and 4,000 meters ceiling. The rotorcraft can transport 120 kilograms of weapons and/or sensor payloads. The AV500W can remain airborne between four to eight hours depending on the payload. In combat mod, it can carry up to four air-to-ground missiles weighing eight kilograms each and having a maximum range of five kilometers. The AV500W unmanned helicopter existence was revealed at China Helicopter Expo in September 2017.
