Description
The Type 92 is a wheeled 6x6 armored vehicle developed by NORINCO for use by the People's Liberation Army (PLA) rapid reaction forces. Type 92 development was based on the unsuccessful Type 90 wheeled armored vehicle introduced in the 1980s. NORINCO designed the Type 92 in two variants: infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and armored personnel carrier (APC) which is also known as Type 92A. The vehicle family achieved initial operational within PLA in 1995 (Type 92) and 1997 (Type 92A). Over 3,800 Type 92/A vehicles have been produced so far.
