Description

The Sherpa A2M (Advanced Mobile Mortar) is a self-propelled gun (SPG) system developed on the basis of the Sherpa Light 4x4 tactical vehicles along a 120mm rifled mortar system from Thales. The resulting weapon system enjoys outstanding mobility and the 120mm gun provides three times more accuracy than existing smoothbore mortars. The Sherpa A2M carries 40 rounds of ammunition and can hit targets at distances of up to 8.2 kilometers or 13 kilometers using rocket assisted projectile (RAP). For self-defense purposes, the vehicle is fitted with a remote weapon station fitted with a 7.62mm machine gun. The Sherpa A2M weapon system was developed by Arquus, Thales and NGTS and was unveiled at the Eurosatory exhibition in June 2022.
