ASR-23
The ASR-23 is a solid-state air surveillance radar designed for long-range en-route air traffic control, operating in the L-band (IEEE designation) or D-band (NATO designation) within the 1250 to 1350 MHz frequency range. It utilizes high-power RF transistors in either an 8- or 16-module configuration, providing two distinct power and range capabilities, with a peak power of 23 kW and an instrumented range of 80 nautical miles (129 km). Except for its power modules and antenna, the ASR-23 is similar to the ASR-10SS terminal surveillance radar. Installed in the early 1990s, often alongside a Cossor-Condor 2 secondary radar, it has been integrated into air safety systems in countries such as the UK, Brazil, and Venezuela.
