Description
The Russian Navy's Project 22870 is a new 1,200-ton class rescue ship built by Zvezdochka Shipyard in Astrakhan. These boats are powered by two KL6538-AS06 electric motors each rated at 2,720-hp of power and is equipped with several diesel generators. The Russian Navy commissioned the first ship in June 2014 and is expected to commission the third and last one within 2016.
