Description
The SH-2G(I) Super Seasprite is a light anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopter, and is the latest variant in the Kaman SH-2 Seasprite family of helicopters originally manufactured for the US Navy. This variant, originally developed for the Australian navy and since acquired by New Zealand, features an advanced integrated maritime weapon system for anti-submarine warfare, surface warfare, over-the-horizon targeting, surveillance, troop transport, vertical replenishment, search-and-rescue and utility missions. The SH-2G(I) has updated flight-control systems and modern radar, sensor and communication systems. The helicopter is also armed with the AGM-119 Penguin anti-ship missile. SH-2G variants are also exported to several other countries.
