The BK-883 is a high-explosive anti-tank with tracer (HEAT-T) projected grenade, which is contact fired by a point-initiating base-detonating (PIBD) fuze. The BK-883 HEAT-T projectile body is painted olive drab with black stencilled markings.
The PBK-883 practice projectile body is painted blue-grey.
The grenade boom and fins are dark grey.
The bourrelet is unpainted and coated with a clear lacquer.
Stenciled markings on the grenade are white, and those on the propellant bags are black.

Note
The BK-883 projected grenade should not be confused as a mortar (it is not fired via a mortar tube) or projectile (it has no driving band).
