Description
The Thunder is a family of precision guided aerial bombs developed by the EDGE Group to meet the requirements of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces. The Thunder bomb use a duel guidance system combining the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Semi-Active Laser (SAL). Relaying only on GNSS the bomb achieves a Circular Error Probable (CEP) of 10 meters that can be reduced to 3 meters when combined with the SAL guidance. The UAE ordered the Thunder bomb family for its Air Force in November 2021 under a $880 million contract.
