Silver Sparrow
Silver Sparrow
The Silver Sparrow is a two-stage aero-ballistic missile intended to serve as a target simulating Medium Range Ballistic Missiles (MRBM) with a maximum range of 1,500 kilometers such as the Iranian Shahab-3 missile. The Silver Sparrow reaches a maximum altitude (Apogee) of 150 kilometers. Israel first tested the Silver Sparrow missile in 2013 and was fully operational as a target for the Arrow 3 air defense system by 2015. Besides the target role, the Silver Sparrow can serve as a standoff weapon with a maximum range of 2,000 kilometers with the weapon reaching a max speed of Mach 8-10 and the reentry vehicle reaching a top speed of Mach 3-4 (1,100-1,500 meters per second). The Silver Sparrow can be used against fortifications and bunkers with a Circular Error Probable (CEP) of 15-20 meters.
