MW 08
The MW 08, a G-band naval radar manufactured by Hollandse Signaalapparaten, is a multi-beam air and surface surveillance, target acquisition, and tracking system designed for short to medium range operations. Operating with a peak power of 50 kW and an instrumented range of 148 km (80 NM), it features a lightweight, hydraulically stabilized platform for high mast mounting. Its antenna array comprises eight horizontally polarized stripline antennas, feeding eight receiver channels that form eight virtual beams, with six beams providing 0-70 degree elevation coverage and a 12° vertical beamwidth. The radar utilizes a fully coherent amplifier with a TWT output stage, intrapulse modulation, and a compressed pulse width of 0.6 µs, enabling it to simultaneously track up to 160 air targets and 40 surface targets with a range resolution of 90 m, an accuracy of 40 m, 0.25°, and an antenna rotation speed of 27 revolutions per minute.
