Description
The North Korean Navy’s Nongo class of high-speed, stealth missile boats have been designed to conduct anti-surface warfare (ASuW) in the littoral environment. These vessels use an advanced catamaran design to achieve a top speed of 48 knots. The vessel also incorporates stealth technology to minimize its radar cross section (RCS) thus enhancing its survivability. The vessels are equipped with four Uran/Kh-35 anti-ship missiles as well as 76mm, 57mm or 30mm guns. The first vessel was commissioned in the early 2000s with up to seven hulls commissioned through 2020.
