Description

The AIMF-90 Fakour is medium-range or long-range air-to-air missile developed by Iran in the 2010s. Externally, the missile resembles the AIM-54 Phoenix missile provided along with the F-14A Tomcat to Iran in the 1970s. The Fakour air-to-air missile was first unveiled by the Iranian Ministry of Defense in April 2017. The Fakour was developed by the Islamic Republic of Iran under its domestic weapons program started in 1992 as a response to the United States arms embargo.
