Description

The Caiman MTV (Multi-Terrain Vehicle) Ambulance is a variant of the Caiman 6x6 MRAP vehicle providing an effective combination of interior capacity, tactical mobility, operator comfort and survivability by utilizing its large interior volume to accommodate up to four litters, or six patients upright. The vehicle is fitted with a sophisticated Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system that regulates the interior to protect patients and medical technicians from temperature extremes. A rapid deployable ingress and egress ramp enables ease of patient loading and unloading. It is powered by a 6-cylinder Caterpillar C7 diesel engine developing 330-hp. The Caiman MTV Ambulance vehicle was introduced at the US Army's AUSA Exhibition in October 2010 and was ordered early that month for evaluation by the United States MRAP Joint Program Office (JPO).
