Description

The Utes-A (Cyrillic: Утёс-А, "Cliff") and Utes-T (Cyrillic: Утёс-Т) are fully coherent L-band air traffic control radars operating in the 1240-1350 MHz frequency range. The Utes-A, designed as a terminal area radar, features a higher data renewal rate and two electronic racks, each containing 16 booster modules. The Utes-T, configured as an en-route radar, offers higher peak power and a greater maximum range of 160 km, utilizing four electronic racks with 16 booster modules each. Both models employ frequency diversity, transmitting simultaneously on two frequencies 54 MHz apart, exclusively via the low-beam channel, and feature four independent receiving channels (high and low beam for each frequency). The radar system uses a 10.5 x 13.6 meter double-curved parabolic reflector antenna, providing a cosecant-squared pattern via two feed horns (high and low beam), with an optional Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar (MSSR) antenna mounted on the same turntable behind the primary reflector.
