Description
The FGM-148F, Javelin Block 2?, is a new variant introduced in early 2019 featuring an advanced multipurpose warhead. The new warhead incorporates the latest shaped charge technology to defeat known and projected heavy armored tanks. Besides a fragmentation steel warhead case improves lethality against soft targets and light armored vehicles. The FGM-148F missile will enter service in early 2020 following a first production contract for 2,100 missile rounds.
