Description

The T-45 Goshawk, also known as T45TS, is a two-seat, carrier capable, jet trainer designed to fulfill the US Navy and USMC requirements for intermediate and advanced training. It is a derivative of proven BAe Systems Hawk trainer updated for carrier operations. The T-45A trainer will replace the T-2 Buckeye and the TA-4 trainers with an integrated training system that includes the T-45A Goshawk aircraft, operations and instrument fighter simulators, academics, and training integration system. There are two T-45 models: the T-45A and T-45C aircraft. T-45A delivered in 1991 features analog cockpit, while T-45C delivered in 1997 has a new digital glass cockpit. The US Navy plans call for delivery of 210 T-45 Goshawk aircraft to provide training to the Navy and Marine Corps pilots beyond 2030.
