Description
The US Navy E-130J TACAMO, formerly E-XX TACAMO, program is intended to deliver an airborne platform based upon the C-130J aircraft allowing communications between US National Command Authority and the ballistic submarine fleet. The E-130J TACAMO platform is intended to replace the E-6B Mercury aircraft fleet in the early 2030s through mid 2030s as part of the strategic deterrent modernization effort. Northrop Grumman was selected for the E-130J program in December following a $3.46 billion contract set to expire by 2034.
