Description

The Kian, King in English, is a long range strike and reconnaissance drone developed by the Islamic Republic of Iran and unveiled in September 2019. The Kian drone has a maximum range of more than 1,000 kilometers and has been designed to fly at altitudes of 5,000 meters. The drone is launched using a truck-mounted catapult and uses a single engine driving a propeller. Its payload allows for real time target location. The Kian is expected to enter service within the Iranian Armed Forces in 2020.
