Description

The Kaya is a 4x4 all-terrain, mine protected armored personnel carrier developed by Otokar based upon the Daimler Chrysler Unimog 5000 running chassis. Besides, Kaya offers ballistic protection, high mobility and outstanding crew comfort. The two-man Armored Cab and 10-men Crew Compartment are designed as two separate units to utilize and maintain the Unimog 5000's ultimate cross country capability. The Kaya 4x4 can easily be configured for different missions. It is powered by a OM 924 LA diesel engine developing 218-hp and a top speed of 96 kph. A roof-mounted weapon cupola provides self-protection against hostile fire. It is available in two versions: armored personnel carrier and tactical truck system. Otokar displayed the Kaya for the first time in early 2009.
