ST100 Starter Kit

The ST100 Starter Kit is an experimental continuous-wave (CW) radar laboratory system manufactured by RFbeam Microwave Ltd. of Switzerland. Operating in the K-band (24-24.5 GHz) with an average power of 4 mW and an instrumented range of 10 m to over 200 m, it comprises a motherboard with a USB 1 interface, a K-band transceiver (K-LA1) acting as an active antenna, and signal evaluation software. Designed for Doppler radar development, its core features a stereo processor, originally for acoustic applications, with two 16-bit low-noise analog-to-digital converters for processing Doppler frequencies up to 16 kHz (360 km/h radial speed). The system's software, developed in LabView, displays signals in time and frequency domains, allowing for signal storage and playback, making it suitable for educational and security applications like room monitoring or creating barrier radars with multiple units. Optional transceivers can be added, some featuring divided receiving antennas for software-based direction determination via phase evaluation between two receive channels.
